Among the enchanting forest of Paphos with the tall trees and the streams running through it, we find the famous spring “Appides” or “Apies” as the locals know it. It is the source that supplies Amargeti with its crystal clear drinking water. The water transport network is the work of the British, while we know that during the Turkish occupation there were no infrastructure projects on the island. The forest of Paphos was declared during the British occupation as the main state forest, as well as all the non-owned forests of the island, while its exploitation was limited by various laws. The visit to the location hidden from the dense vegetation, especially in winter – spring period where the waters run clear, leaves us impressed and happy.
